Most fashion colleges in India and abroad give less Importance to technical apparel design as compared to trend forecasting, Creative design and textile etc. However, In real field the use of technical apparel design is much vast and wide as compared to creative design. So far I have came across numerous fashion designers who do not have even little knowledge on garment fit techniques. Several fashion collages have sent their trainees to my organisation but non of them have any sound training on Apparel Technical Design. This is something which lacks not only in India but also in the countries where fashion is on its pick.
Countries like India , Bangladesh, Vietnam and China lack these resources and those few designers who are there and sound on technical design charge too high for providing garment fit techniques. This results in low quality products and mass rejections from quality assurance team. In this blog and few of my other blog posts I have mentioned in detail what technical design is all about.
